Following the passing of Jimmy Buffett, several celebrities have expressed their condolences and paid tribute to the late singer. Notable figures such as Elton John, Andy Cohen, John Stamos, and Paul McCartney shared their thoughts and memories.
Elton John, who had collaborated with Buffett, shared in his Instagram stories: "Jimmy Buffett was a one-of-a-kind and cherished entertainer. His fans loved him, and he never disappointed them. This news is incredibly sad—a lovely man gone too soon. My condolences to Jane and the family from David and me."
Paul McCartney took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share a picture of himself with Buffett and wrote a heartfelt message. He said, "It seems like we're losing so many wonderful people from this world, and now Jimmy Buffett is one of them. I've known Jimmy for some time, and I always found him to be one of the kindest and most generous individuals."
Paul McCartney recalled a moment from a vacation when he had forgotten to bring his guitar, and he was eager to play. Buffett offered to lend him one of his guitars and even had it restrung for McCartney, who is left-handed. As a further gesture of generosity, Buffett gave McCartney a beautiful left-handed guitar crafted by one of his guitar-making friends. McCartney expressed his gratitude, saying that every time he plays that guitar, it will remind him of what a great person Jimmy Buffett was.
