Simon Cowell recently shared his experience with therapy, describing it as a liberating experience that felt like a heavy burden had been lifted from his shoulders. The well-known talent show judge, famous for shows like Britain's Got Talent and The X Factor, spoke openly about the remarkably positive impact therapy had on his life in a recent interview.
In the interview, the 63-year-old revealed that he had faced periods of depression in the past, but he had often regarded it as a personal characteristic he had to manage. However, the COVID-19 pandemic became a significant turning point for him. Seeing some of his friends fall seriously ill during the early stages of the pandemic intensified his anxiety and worsened his mental health.
Cowell admitted that he was paralyzed by fear of contracting the virus and found it challenging to distinguish between truth and misinformation. As a result, his family stayed in Los Angeles for an entire year, and he rarely left home or interacted with others. This period of isolation took a toll on his mental well-being, and he even questioned whether his TV shows should proceed in the UK.
Adding to his challenges, Cowell also suffered a severe accident at home that required extensive surgery, including the insertion of a metal rod in his back for stabilization.
As the situation gradually improved, Cowell confessed that he felt unprepared to re-enter the "real world," underscoring the significance of therapy in helping him cope with these difficult times.
