OLIVIA RODRIGO PROMOTES USING TIKTOK FOR SONG INSPIRATION

Like many young singer-songwriters, Olivia Rodrigo is quite active on TikTok. She believes that TikTok isn't just for entertainment; it can also spark creativity for songwriting. She shared how she came up with the idea for her song "Traitor" while browsing TikTok. She saw someone going through a similar situation as hers, and it helped her clarify her own feelings.

Olivia is about to release her second album, "Guts," on September 8th. She recently mentioned that two artists, Jack White and St. Vincent, were significant inspirations for this record. Jack White advised her to create music she'd like to hear on the radio, and St. Vincent praised her confidence and authenticity.

Olivia has already released two songs from the upcoming album: "Vampire" and "Bad Idea Right?" Interestingly, "Bad Idea Right?" initially started as a joke song about rekindling a relationship with an ex-boyfriend. However, as they worked on it, they realized they had something special. Olivia even mentioned that in one part of the song, there's a background sound that sounds like an instrument, but it's actually her gradually screaming louder.
