Ed shared that last autumn, he and his friends were going through a lot of changes. After the summer heat, things either settled down, fell apart, or reached a turning point. This album captures those experiences, with some songs from his perspective and others from his friends'. He explained that the songs reflect how they all saw the world during that time. The album is a mix of highs like falling in love and forming new friendships, alongside lows of heartbreak, loneliness, and confusion.

Ed's inspiration for the album came from his dad and brother, who told him about an English composer named Edward Elgar. Elgar created "Enigma Variations," a collection of 14 compositions, each representing a different friend. Ed and Aaron connected really well while working on Ed's recent album "-," pronounced as "Subtract," and that connection gave birth to "Autumn Variations." Ed mentioned that Aaron perfectly captured the autumn atmosphere in the music.

Ed has been giving his fans hints on social media that something exciting was in the works. Now, we can look forward to enjoying the musical embrace of "Autumn Variations" very soon.
