Mark Zuckerberg has stated that he's moving past the idea of a rumored cage fight with Elon Musk, explaining that Musk doesn't seem serious about it. The two billionaire tech rivals seemed to agree to a fight in June when Musk tweeted that he was open to a cage fight.
Zuckerberg, who oversees Facebook and Instagram, responded with interest, but now he's saying Musk isn't taking it seriously. In a recent post on a social media platform, Zuckerberg mentioned that he offered a real date for the fight and even the UFC boss Dana White offered to organize a charity event. However, Musk hasn't confirmed a date, mentioned needing surgery, and proposed a practice round in Zuckerberg's backyard instead.
Zuckerberg made it clear that if Musk ever becomes genuinely interested in setting up a real event, he knows how to contact him. Until then, Zuckerberg is shifting his focus to competing with people who are truly committed to the sport.
Musk, who now owns Twitter (renamed as X), had hinted at an epic fight location in Italy, along with streaming options and an ancient backdrop for the event. There have been tensions between their companies, Meta and Twitter, after Meta launched a text-based conversation app called Threads, which led to a legal dispute.
Zuckerberg has experience in mixed martial arts and even shared his participation in a jiu-jitsu tournament. On the other hand, Musk mentioned that he's preparing for the fight by lifting weights, joking that he brings the weights to work since he's too busy.
