Travis Scott, The Weeknd, and Bad Bunny surprised their fans with a new single called "KPOP." This song drop happened just before Travis Scott's big Utopia livestream event, scheduled on July 28 at the Pyramids of Giza in Egypt. This event marks the launch of Travis's highly anticipated studio album, his first in five years since "Astroworld" released on August 3, 2018. "Astroworld" was a huge success, topping the Billboard 200 and Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums charts, and it also featured the Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 hit "SICKO MODE" with Drake. So, the new "KPOP" single has got fans buzzing with excitement!
After various reports claimed that Travis Scott's concert in Egypt had been canceled, Live Nation stepped in to clarify the situation in a statement to Billboard. They stated, "There have been no changes to Travis Scott's show in Egypt; any reports saying otherwise are untrue. We are eagerly looking forward to celebrating Utopia with you in Egypt!"
"KPOP" is the sixth collaboration between Travis Scott (real name Jacques Webster) and The Weeknd (real name Abel Tesfaye). They have previously worked together on five other tracks: "Pray 4 Love" from Scott's 2015 album "Rodeo," "Wonderful" from Scott's 2016 album "Birds In the Trap Sing McKnight," "WAKE UP" and "SKELETONS" from Scott's album "Astroworld," and "Power Is Power" alongside SZA for the "For the Throne: Music Inspired by the HBO Series Game of Thrones" soundtrack.
