"MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 7" FAILS TO MEET EXPECTATIONS, RAKES IN $56 MILLION ON OPENING WEEKEND, AND SURPASSES $80 MILLION IN FIVE DAYS!

"Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One" Takes the Lead at the Box Office but Falls Short of Initial Expectations. Tom Cruise's Latest Blockbuster Earns $56.2 Million Over the Weekend, Marking a Slow Start for a Film with a Budget of Nearly $300 Million.

Anticipating a new franchise record of $60 million or more, Paramount and Skydance's action-adventure film aimed high. However, ticket sales fell behind the openings of "Mission: Impossible – Fallout" (2018) at $61 million and "Mission: Impossible II" (2000) at $57.8 million, which still hold the top spots as the series' best debuts in its 27-year history.

While there are some differences in the release schedule, it's important to note that "Dead Reckoning Part One" opened on Wednesday instead of Friday. Despite this, the seventh installment of the franchise has managed to amass an estimated $80 million within its first five days, surpassing the earnings of both "Fallout" ($77.5 million) and "Mission: Impossible II" ($78.8 million) during the same timeframe.
