Netflix has revealed exciting new details about the highly anticipated second season of the South Korean thriller series "Squid Game" during the Tudum Global Fan Event in Brazil. A teaser for the upcoming season introduced both familiar and fresh faces, confirming the return of lead actor Lee Jung-jae as Seong Gi-hun, the struggling protagonist. Joining him for Season 2 are Lee Byung-hun as the enigmatic "Front Man" and Wi Ha-jun as the determined cop entangled in the dangerous world of the deadly game, as he searches for his missing brother.
The series, which premiered in 2021 and racked up six Primetime Emmys, will also welcome new cast members Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Sung-hoon and Yang Dong-geun.
Standout cast member Oh Yeong-su, who played the elderly and unassuming Oh Il-nam in the first season of “Squid Game,” has yet to be confirmed as a returning cast member, even though his involvement in the game was revealed to be a bit more complicated at the end of the show’s first season.
A release date for the new season has not been announced yet.
