Tom Holland takes on the lead role in the upcoming series, The Crowded Room, set to premiere on June 9. This psychological thriller delves into the themes of trauma and mental health, with Tom portraying the character of Danny, a socially withdrawn young man who becomes wrongly implicated in a shooting incident.

In a recent revelation, Tom shared that during the filming of The Crowded Room, he experienced a challenging period where he had difficulty distinguishing between his own identity and the character he portrayed. This confusion ultimately led to a personal "meltdown" for the actor.

"I'm no stranger to the physical aspects of the job during the whole action movie thing. But the mental aspect , it really beat me up, and it took a long time for me to recover afterwards, to sort of get back to reality."

"I was just terrified by the idea of playing this character." he said, before adding "I just really agreed that it was time to tell the story about mental health- mental health that is brought on by trauma. And educate some people into how crazy it can be and how your mind is so powerful- it can work for good, and it can work for bad- and it just really resonates with me."

Tom further elaborated on the reasons behind his difficult experience on set, highlighting that the additional responsibility of being a producer for the series added extra pressure and contributed to the overwhelming nature of the situation.
