Pete Davidson and PETA are engaged in a conflict regarding the new dog he purchased. The comedian expressed his strong emotions towards the animal rights group by leaving a voicemail filled with profanity. Although he doesn't feel remorse for his actions, he explains that they stemmed from his grief.
According to PETA, Pete left a heated message on Monday for Daphna Nachminovitch, PETA's Senior VP of Cruelty Investigation who expressed PETA's disappointment in Pete's decision to buy a puppy from a pet store instead of adopting from a shelter.
In the voice mail, Pete introduces himself and mentions that he is addressing Daphna's statement, which he considers uninformed and hasty. He explains that he is allergic to dogs, as his representative informed us, and that is why he had to choose a cavapoo, a breed that is almost hypoallergenic due to their minimal shedding. Additionally, Pete mentions that he got the dog for his mother, who recently lost her previous pet.
Before Pete provided his explanation, PETA conveyed their condolences to the Davidson family for the loss of their dog. However, they firmly stated that Pete should understand that there is no justification for purchasing a dog and supporting the puppy mill industry when there are countless dogs in shelters waiting for loving homes. PETA expressed their hope that Pete would make the right choice and adopt a dog in the future.
