GABRIEL LUNA DRAWS CHARACTER INSPIRATION FROM ON-SCREEN BROTHER PEDRO PASCAL.

Gabriel Luna has disclosed that his villainous character in the new Netflix series FUBAR was influenced by Pedro Pascal.

FUBAR features Arnold Schwarzenegger as a CIA agent on the verge of retirement who discovers that his daughter is also involved with the CIA. Luna portrays Boro, an evil arms dealer whom the father-daughter duo must track down.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Luna admitted that he drew inspiration from another villain portrayed by Pedro Pascal, who coincidentally plays Luna's onscreen brother in the apocalyptic thriller The Last of Us. Luna explained, "Pedro, whom I worked with on The Last of Us, played a character in a film called Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent who was kind of an arms dealer, but he's so likable and personable. So, I told him that I drew a little bit from that character for this role I was doing. He responded, 'Oh, that's great. Happy I could help.'"

Luna also dedicated time to perfecting Boro's accent since his character is from Guyana but was educated in England and has spent a considerable amount of time in America. Luna shared, "He's a well-traveled person. So in my mind, there's definitely a hint of a Spanish accent, but there should also be a touch of an English lilt to the way he speaks."

Both Pascal and Luna are expected to reprise their roles as Joel and Tommy, respectively, in The Last of Us season two. However, the production has been delayed due to the ongoing Writers Guild of America (WGA) strike. Series creators Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann have halted all work on the show, including scriptwriting and auditions.
