SIA REVEALS SHE'S ON THE AUTISM SPECTRUM.

Sia recently shared that she is on the autism spectrum, revealing this during an episode of Rob Has a Podcast hosted by Rob Cesternino. The 47-year-old singer mentioned that she received a diagnosis later in life.

"I have autism, and I have been working towards recovery and self-acceptance. There are many aspects to it," she explained. "For 45 years, I felt the need to put on a façade and conform. It's only in the past two years that I have truly embraced my authentic self."

Sia, known for her hit song "Chandelier," has been candid about her struggles with substance abuse. During her conversation with Survivor contestant Carolyn Wiger, she delved further into her journey to sobriety and her experiences as someone who is neuroatypical.

"Being in recovery and understanding your own neurodivergence, or lack thereof, is incredibly empowering. One of the most profound things is that when we let go of our secrets and shame, and share our deepest, darkest, and most shameful truths with strangers who accept and laugh with us, we no longer feel like worthless individuals. We feel acknowledged for who we truly are, and from there, we can venture out into the world..."

This revelation comes two years after Sia faced backlash for casting her longtime collaborator, Maddie Ziegler, who is neurotypical, as a nonverbal autistic character in her directorial debut film, "Music," released in 2021.

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a developmental and neurological condition that affects social interaction, communication, learning, and behavior in individuals.
