Matty Healy has playfully addressed the rumors surrounding his alleged relationship with Taylor Swift during his performance at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend music festival.
In a lighthearted manner, the frontman of The 1975 indirectly touched upon the speculations about his romantic involvement with the "Lover" singer. Speaking to the crowd, he jokingly pondered, "Is it all a bit? Is it sincere? Will he ever address it?" He then swiftly shifted the focus, stating, "All of these questions and more will be ignored in the next hour. Ladies and gentlemen, this is The 1975."
The dating rumors between Matty and Taylor initially sparked in May when Matty was spotted at Taylor's concert in Nashville. According to sources cited by The Sun, the singers had been in a relationship for about two months and were deeply in love. However, neither Matty nor Taylor has publicly confirmed their romance.
Further fueling the speculation, the alleged couple was later seen kissing at Casa Cipriani in New York City. Additionally, Matty has been spotted sneaking into Taylor's New York apartment.
During one of her recent concerts, Taylor shared her happiness with the audience, expressing, "I kind of feel like telling you, I don't know, I've just never been this happy in my life, in all aspects of my life ever before. It's not just the tour. I just sort of feel like my life finally feels like it makes sense."
While the status of their relationship remains unconfirmed, Matty's playful remarks and the ongoing sightings continue to spark curiosity among fans.
