Lewis Capaldi and Niall Horan's songwriting collaboration didn't quite hit the mark, leading Lewis to describe it as "f- s-" and jokingly suggesting that Niall must have written most of it. The close friends, Scottish and Irish singers respectively, had hoped to include the song on Lewis's latest album, 'Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent', but ultimately decided it wasn't up to par.
While discussing potential duet partners, Lewis humorously shared with The Mirror, "Niall would be one, of course. We wrote a song, and it was not good. Yeah, it was f- s- (bad). He wrote most of it." Despite their unsuccessful collaboration, Lewis expressed admiration for Harry Styles, calling him a successful and incredibly attractive artist.
At the top of Lewis's collaboration wishlist is fellow Scot Paolo Nutini. Describing Nutini as his dream collaborator, he playfully remarked on Nutini's elusive nature, comparing the chase to a comical bedroom scenario. Lewis would jump at the opportunity to work with him if Nutini is willing to make it happen.
When asked about becoming a good songwriter, Lewis jokingly advised aspiring artists to reach a level of fame where Ed Sheeran would be willing to write with them. He also suggested writing songs consistently, even if they start out as "s***," because with time, they'll hopefully improve.
Lewis and Niall have a longstanding bromance and enjoy teasing each other. Recently, Niall playfully called out Lewis for claiming to do his own laundry in his Netflix documentary. Niall insisted that Lewis was putting on a show for the cameras and revealed that Lewis's mother is actually the one taking care of his washing. The lighthearted banter between the two friends is a testament to their close bond.
