Kate Winslet has given birth to a baby boy.

The actress and her husband Ned Rocknroll welcomed their first child together on Saturday (December 7) at an NHS hospital in Sussex County.

The couple announced in June that they were expecting a baby, after marrying in December 2012.

Winslet, who was previously married to Skyfall director Sam Mendes, already has two children - Mia, 12, and Joe, 9.

She said earlier this year of her parenting: "[My children have] always been with me. They don't go from pillar to post; they're not flown here and there with nannies. That's never happened.

"My kids don't go back and forth; none of this 50/50 time with the moms and dads – my children live with me; that is it. That is it! People go, 'Oh, my God! Those poor children! They must have gone through so much'. Says who?"

Winslet and Rocknroll, who is the nephew of Richard Branson, began dating in 2011.
