Hold on to your easter eggs, because the book world is buzzing with wild speculation! A mysterious book titled "4C Untitled Flatiron Nonfiction Summer 2023" has sent Swifties into a pre-order frenzy, but here's the twist: it's probably not written by Taylor Swift herself.
This untitled book from Flatiron, a Macmillan imprint, has skyrocketed up the sales charts in the US as fans connected the dots and entertained the possibility that it could be a memoir by the 33-year-old songstress. After all, Taylor is known for dropping subtle hints and Easter eggs in her songs that her devoted fans love to unravel.
The enigmatic book, available for pre-order at $45, has been hovering in the top 10 of Amazon's book sales chart, even reaching the impressive No. 2 spot. It's also claimed the coveted No. 1 spot on Barnes & Noble's pre-orders chart. The pre-order frenzy kicked off when a document, allegedly from Flatiron, started circulating on social media, teasing that the title and author would be revealed on June 13. The book is said to contain 544 pages, and Swifties quickly pointed out that 5 + 4 + 4 equals 13. And everyone knows that 13 is Taylor's lucky number!
According to the document, the mystery book is described as a "biography or autobiography" featuring 40 color photos. With an initial print-run of one million copies and a global release date of July 9, it suggests a high-profile author is involved.
Coincidentally, the July 9 release date aligns with the lyrics of Swift's song "Last Kiss" from her third album, "Speak Now." Speaking of "Speak Now," Taylor is set to re-release that album on July 7 as part of her "Taylor's Version" project, where she re-records her earlier works. Fans couldn't help but connect the dots and speculate that Taylor's use of the phrase "dear reader" in the announcement of "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)" was a hint of an accompanying book.
