Based on the novel by Suzanne Collins that was released in 2020, "The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes" serves as a prequel to the "Hunger Games" trilogy and focuses on the early life of the villainous President Coriolanus Snow played by Tom Blyth, who is a young mentor in the 10th Hunger Games.
Based 64 years before the current event of Katnis Everdeen and 74th Reaping of the hunger games, the movie is set to follow a young naïve Coriolanus Snow as he mentors district twelve’s tribute and new protagonist, Lucy Gray Baird (Rachel Zegler).
The trailer which was dropped just two days ago shows Snow being directed by Casca Highbottom the Dean of The Academy (Peter Dinklage) into turning the children into spectacles not survivors. Being young and naïve Snow is confronted by his morals. Should he become the greatest show runner in the capitol’s history or should he follow his heart and become his tribute’s saving grace?
One might perhaps call this President Snow’s villain origin ark.
The movie stars Tom Blyth, Rachel Zegler, Peter Dinklage, Hunter Schaffer, Viola Davis, Burn Gorman, Jason Schwartzman and many other notable actors in Hollywood and is set to release worldwide on the 17th of November 2023.
