BOXOFFICE: MOVIE REVIEWS!

Welcome Hollywood's very best!
Here are three movies that’s guaranteed to have chills running down your spine!

KNOCK AT THE CABIN.

If Drax & Ron Weasley came to my door and told me the world’s ending I’d believe it! As a disclaimer I’d (This is Mandy.. hi hello) like to preface that I went in to watch this movie without any prior information or theories drilled in by any fandoms and let me tell you I’m glad because this allows me to give you an honest review.

I am a connoisseur of horror movies and a very picky one at that.
We’ve seen quite the dry spell when it comes to horror movies over the last couple of months and Knock at the Cabin has finally ended the draught.

M. Night Shyamalan brings you a classic horror film cut of all the futuristic artifacts seen in most modern horror movies and perhaps that’s what makes KatC so engrossing. Shyamalan has stuck to the basics and told a story true to home that’ll leave you picking at your brain and your heart.

Starring Dave Bautista, Jonathan Groff, Rupert Grint, Ben Aldridge and introducing Nikki Amuka-Bird.The Story follows a young family that’s on vacation at a cabin in the woods, and while that line alone should make anyone stray far far away from said cabin it wouldn’t really make for a good horror movie now would it?
We quickly come to the threshold of the story where Leonard, Eric and their toddler daughter Sabrina are being held captive by a group of armed strangers claiming that they are the only people, the only family that can save humanity.

So the question arises: would YOU save your family or save humanity?

CONSECRATION.

Of all the tropes in horror my personal favorite is “Religious Horror”.
Consecration is right up there with the best of the best, Exorcist, Omen, The Nun, The Exorcism of Emily Rose, Saint Maud etc.

Starring Jena Malone, Danny Houston, Janet Suzman, and Ian Pirie,
Consecration brings horror to Scotland as Grace takes a soul driven journey to the Isle of Skye to the convent her brother lived and died at to find out the truth behind his mysterious death. At first arrival everything seems perfectly fine (duh) and everyone at the convent repeats (almost as if practiced) that he fell off a cliff to his death.
Not believing the obvious lies Grace takes it upon herself to dig into what really happened and is confronted by some awful truths she is not ready to face including the fact that her brother himself was a suspect in a murder investigation.

Filled with secrets and sacrilege, mystery and gore Consecration makes for a great horror movie.

EVIL DEAD RISE.

Ah the Evil Dead, a beloved franchise residing in the hearts of every horror lover.

Back with a 5th installment, Evil Dead Rise takes a bit of a different turn from their usual alleyways and sewers to a more… scenic abode. The crapmed up LA home of Ellie, a young mother who’s raising her three children by herself. She is paid a visit by her sister Beth after a weary trip and the two rekindle their estranged ties.
While at Ellie’s the two find a mysterious book hidden deep in the pitfalls of Ellie’s apartment building.
The book with the help of the two sisters release flesh-possessing demons and run rampage and put everyone in danger and Beth is now trust into a primal battle of fighting not just for her life but for the lives of her sister’s children against what one can only call the most nightmarish version of motherhood imaginable.

While horror movies are typically meant as an escape from reality, Evil Dead Rise confronts the viewer with the notion that humans are human and make stupid decisions and at the end of the day you forgive them.

The movie stars Lily Sullivan, Alyssa Sutherland, Morgan Davies.
