Wednesday (23^rd Nov) has been declared a national holiday and a day of celebration for all Workers and Students in Saudi Arabia after the Saudi team, in a stunning turn of events beat Argentina during their first match at the FIFA world cup.

King Salman approved a suggestion made by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to celebrate the national team’s victory with a holiday. Saudi press reported as per the King’s instructions all public and private & public sector employees and all educational institutes of all levels will be given a holiday.  

The team along with the King of Saudi Arabia gives credit to the team’s coach Hervé Renard who’s an ex-professional football player that played for the French football clubs; AS Cannes, Stade de Vallauris, SC Draguignan from 1983-1998 after which he switched to teaching professional football.  In 2019 he became the manager of the Saudi team the first ever Frenchman to do so.
