Quinten Tarantino, the man, the myth, the legend… the creator of 10 of the highest rated movies of the 21st century and one of the most controversial characters in Hollywood.
Tarantino has gone and done it. He has single handedly fictionalized the careers of the protectors of our universe (and the multiple others that’s we’re all very confused about).
The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood director is speaking out about how Hollywood is too focused on creating superhero movies calling it the “Marevlization of Hollywood”. The 59-Year-Old spoked about how too many actors are becoming superstars by playing superheroes and that none of them are actual “movie stars”“it is the characters themselves, that are the stars, not the actors” stating that it’s actually Captain America and Thor that are the stars not the actors themselves. “But they’re not movie stars. Right? Captain America is the star. Or Thor is the star. I mean, I’m not the first person to say that. I think that’s been said a zillion times…but it’s like, you know, it’s these franchise characters that become a star.”Speaking out about this was one of the latest “Stars” of the marvel Cinematic Universe Simu Liu (Shang Chi). It is fair to say that after working for so many for as hard has he has, Tarantino’s statement has more than annoyed Simu, he shared his thoughts on Twitter saying “If the only gatekeepers to movie stardom came from Tarantino and Scorsese, I would never have had the opportunity to lead a $400 million plus movie,” he said “No movie studio is or ever will be perfect. But I’m proud to work with one that has made sustained efforts to improve diversity onscreen by creating heroes that empower and inspire people of all communities everywhere.” Stating that while he too loved the “Golden Era” of Hollywood, it was still very very white and that simply does not pass in today’s day.
