The Marilyn Monroe bio-pic that everyone has been waiting for all year long has finally been released globally!

“Blonde” follows the life & story of Norma Jeane Mortenson as she becomes the universally beloved Marilyn Monroe. But it also delves in depth into the person behind the camera & make up, behind the dazzling smile and gorgeous body. “Blonde” gives viewers an in-depth personal look into the struggles and pain of Marilyn’s life as the biggest icon of her time.  

But as with all great things, hate is close behind. The movie had a rocky start when they casted Cuban-Spanish actress Ana De Armas. Many had the worry that the new face in Hollywood might not be able to live up to the larger-than-life Monroe, and their worries were first confirmed when the first trailer was released and De Arma’s accent didn’t quite match that of the LA native with a 60s swing.

Things have now really taken a stand still since the movie came out, as fans & movie goers are accusing the movie of exploiting Monroe. Critics are saying that the movie doesn’t actually celebrate Marilyn’s life but instead paints her as a victim of abuse & violence. Some even went as far as saying “Blonde is more a horror movie than a celebratory bio-pic”
