BTS are turning 30 and that means disaster is looming over their heads. No we’re just kidding! But it does mean that the Mandatory Military Service is coming up for the seven-member boyband. Jin being the oldest member who’s turning 30 this year will most likely be the first to shave his hair off head to service, followed by the rest of his dongsaengs and then it’s basically a waiting game.

Of course, fans & fellow Koreans tried to get the boys exempted from the army given that professional athletes & dancers get exemption if they have achieve national status and contributes something monumental towards the country. That in turn opens up the possibility of BTS getting an exception too given how much they have done for Kpop and South Korea, but alas The Blue House, the President & the Defense Minster of South Korea have decided against it. Saying that while “their achievements and contributions are tremendous, it doesn’t mean they get anything special” and that people should consider the mandatory military service a "punishment".
