If you were to talk about Hollywood's mega star Keanu Reeves half the room would know him as John Wick; the roundhouse kicking, power punching assassin. But how did Mr. Reeves get around to becoming the iconic character? Turns out the opportunity arose just as both Keanu & the writer of John Wick: Derek Kolstad really needed it.

Derek Kolstad knew the right people at the right time and it worked wonders for him. As his writing career began his agent came to him
with five offers for the script and advised him to go with the lowest paying one because they wanted to make the movie "now".
As it goes, the script was sold in February and the movie premiered in November that same year, which Kolstad says never happens.

On the other side of LA was struggling actor Keanu Reeves going through a career slump and luckily for him he too knew the right people at the right time, his agent happed to be friends with Derek Kolstad and had asked if he had an action movie for Keanu, and he did.

The rest is history.
