LEA MICHELE TAKES OVER SPOT LEFT BY BEANIE FELDSTIEN IN "FUNNY GIRL".

Back in April Beanie Feldstien took on the role of Fanny Brice, made popular by Babara
Streisand. The new revamped musical was met with mixed reactions, while the lead actress
wasn’t acknowledged by the Tony Awards in the nominations. But this last week Feldstein made
a post on her social media stating "Once the production decided to take the show in a different
direction" she wrote "I made the extremely difficult decision to step away sooner than
anticipated." The next day the producers of Funny Girl had casted Lea Michele to take over
Beanie’s character, they stated "The producers of Funny Girl were not blindsided by Beanie's
social post, the producers decided to take the show in a different direction and end Beanie's
contract on September 25th, 6 months earlier than anticipated. A month after that decision,
Beanie decided it was best for her to leave on July 31st. The producers were aware of and in
support of her decision. The producers and Beanie worked on this together professionally,
respectfully and graciously"
