After a week of battling it out at the Box Office, Minions: The Rise of Gru comes on top as the victor
domestically in the US and internationally, sending fan favorite Top Gun: Maverick to the backseat.

franchise, where a young Gru tries to join the Vicious 6, a criminal organization after their leader Wild
Knuckles gets kicked out. The Movie not only has the attention of parents & children, teenage boys are
waltzing into movie theaters in black suits after a TikTok has set ablaze a fancy new trend. By the end of
Independence weekend in the US, the movie had made an estimated $202 Million, while Top Gun which
is currently the highest grossing movie of 2022 made $128 Million.
