After Lionsgate, who has the distributing rights confirmed back in February that a new MJ biopic
is in the works, Michael’s family has come forward with how they feel about it. The Movie titled
“Michael” will focus on the life story of MJ from childhood to his glory days. It is meant to give
fans and the audience “an in-depth portrayal of the complicated man who became the king of
pop” says the screenwriter John Logan, it will also give an insight into Michael’s creative
process while showcasing some of his biggest performances.
In a press release Katherine Jackson MJ’s mother said “ever since Michael was little, as a
member of the Jackson 5, he loved the magic of cinema.” She continued “as a family, we are
honored to have our life story come alive on the big screen.”
Michael’s nephew Ty Jackson went on to say that the movie will be an opportunity to “reframe
the ‘awful’ allegations levelled against Michael” he also added “I think it’s awful, to be honest. I
think it’s very sad. My uncle is not here to defend himself, so he’s an easy target. He was always
an easy target, because he was always quiet.”
