KIM KARDASHIAN WEARS MARILYN MONROE'S ICONIC DRESS TO MET GALA 2022!
Kim Kardashian has showed up on the 2022 Met Gala honorary pathway wearing a precious stone adorned outfit last worn by Marilyn Monroe sixty years prior when she entertained the US president John F Kennedy for his birthday.
 
The Met Gala, known for its high-profile list of attendees and extreme outfits, denotes the kickoff of the yearly design presentation at the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute.This year's show, In America: An Anthology of Fashion, enlivened the occasion topic of "plated excitement".
 
Kardashian's translation of the topic came from "the most American thing you can imagine".
 
"What's more, that is Marilyn Monroe," she told Vogue. "For my purposes, the most Marilyn Monroe second is the point at which she sang Happy Birthday to JFK, it was that look."
 
Kardashian's change into Monroe for the Met Gala cover took more than wearing the Bob Mackie dress. "I needed an actual change as well," she told Vogue.
 
As well as fading her hair bleach fair, Kardashian said she shed 16 pounds (7kg) in under a month to squeeze into the dress.
 
"It was such a test," she said. "It resembled a job. Not set in stone to fit this. I would wear a sauna suit two times every day, run on the treadmill, totally cut out all sugar and all carbs, and simply eat the cleanest veggies and protein."
 
Securing the dress was a test, as well. The piece sold in 2016 for $US4.8m and holds the record for the most costly dress sold at sell off, as announced by Vogue.

The Monroe look joins Kardashian's setup of Met Gala troupes that stand out - including her 2019 "wet" Thierry Mugler dress dribbling in precious stones and last year's head-to-toe dark Balenciaga bodysuit.
