CHRIS ROCK'S MOM SPEAKS OUT ON WILL SMITH’S OSCARS SLAP!

Will Smith slapped Chris Rock on stage at the Oscars about a month ago, and the backlash from the incident is still ongoing. At this time, a number of well-known Hollywood figures have spoken out, including a few members of the Smith and Rock families. Rock's mother is the most recent relative to speak out, and she did not mince words when discussing the contentious situation.

Rosalie "Rose" Rock, Chris Rock's mother, claimed that she was one of the numerous people that watched the 94th Academy Awards that night. During an interview with WIS-TV in South Carolina, the author and motivational speaker said she thought Will Smith's slap was staged until "[WIll] started yelling obscenities" after returning to his seat. Rock, who has attended the Oscars many times with her son, claimed that "when he smacked Chris, he slapped all of us," presumably referring to the Rock family. "He really slapped me," she went on to add. She expressed the following about Will Smith's attitude in the heat of the moment: Chris Rock approached the stage at the Oscars to deliver the Best Documentary Feature award, and he began by cracking a few jokes.

During that time, the comedian joked that he was looking forward to seeing Jada Pinkett Smith in a sequel to G.I. Jane, a reference to the actress's shaved head. The comic was hit shortly after the King Richard star arrived on stage. Following the event, Rock declined to seek charges.
