MARVEL'S WANDAVISION IS OFFICIALLY NOT RETURNING FOR SEASON 2!
WandaVision fans may have hoped for a second season, but it will not happen. According to CBR, Mohamed Diab, the director of Moon Knight, another Disney+ and Marvel product, has confirmed that there will be no Season 2 of WandaVision. WandaVision aired on Disney+ in January 2021 for the first and only time.
Diab was speaking with SFX Magazine about Moon Knight's future when he said that WandaVision would not be renewed after its first season. He talked about how other shows in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) haven't been as successful in terms of running time. Unlike other shows like WandaVision, the filmmaker thinks that Moon Knight will be able to break the norm.
Diab remarked, "It's like a strange universe." "Even the most popular series, such as WandaVision, do not have a second season. She jumped into a movie and isn't sure if she'll return or not. I'm not sure. And it excites me." Fans are unlikely to be surprised by this announcement, as Elizabeth Olsen, who plays Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch, previously stated in an interview in 2021 that WandaVision was always intended to be a limited series, and that it will most certainly not return for Season 2.
WandaVision was the first Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) series to be made on Disney+. Even so, it isn't expected to return for Season 2. Olsen played Wanda Maximoff/The Scarlet Witch, and Paul Bettany played Vision in WandaVision. The actors' characters were created in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with Olsen and Bettany making their first appearances as their respective personas in Avengers: Age of Ultron (Bettany first voiced JARVIS, the remains of which became Vision, in Iron Man). After the events of Avengers: Infinity War, the series began. WandaVision's take on the characters was rather unusual, since the show combined the aesthetic of classic sitcoms with the MCU to give fans an entirely new perspective on the heroes.
