Camila Cabello discusses her new album, Familia, in depth. On Friday (April 8), the 25-year-old singer appeared on The Tonight Show, where she discussed her life-changing experience recording the new album.

"It's crucial to have those moments where you're like, 'Wow, this album was a two-year journey for me,' because I've been going, going, going." "I believe the difference between now and before was in the writing process," she concluded. "I used to feel like I had a lot to prove... And I believe my personal struggles with anxiety and mental health issues - I used to be ashamed of talking about it when I was younger. I felt like I had to have it all together and seem like a self-assured 'pop star.' And I was really hurting on the inside."
"This time, I thought to myself, 'You know what? "I'm not attempting to persuade anyone," she continued.Camila also revealed that the album's title was inspired by her support system as she embarked on this new chapter in her life, and that several members of her family appear on the album.
