Rachel Zegler, who starred in the Snow White adaptation, will provide her voice to another princess role in an animated project from Apple and Skydance.

Rachel Zegler's next major role has recently been cast. According to Deadline, the West Side Story star will provide her voice to Apple Original Films and Skydance Animation's animated musical Spellbound. Princess Ellian will be played by Zegler, who is described as a "tenacious princess who must embark on a perilous mission to restore her family and country after a mystery magic transforms her parents into monsters and threatens to engulf Lumbria in darkness for all time."

Vicky Jenson will direct Spellbound, which was written by Lauren Hynek, Elizabeth Martin, and Linda Woolverton. Oscar winner Alan Menken composes the film's original score, with lyrics by Glenn Slater, and executive music producer Chris Montan. Skydance Animation is producing with Josh Lasseter, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg, and David Lipman.

Zegler is now riding high on the success of Steven Spielberg's version of West Side Story, which has received critical praise. Many critics complimented Zegler's performance, which earned her a Golden Globe nomination. The actress is also poised to play as the title Disney princess in a live-action rendition of Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and will make her DCEU debut with a part in the forthcoming superhero sequel Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
