At a graduating event for New York University (NYU) students, Taylor Swift will be awarded an honorary doctor of fine arts.Swift, 32, will be honored among other alumni and honorees at a ceremony on May 18th at Yankee Stadium in New York City.At the morning ceremony, the 11-time Grammy winner will speak on behalf of all degree recipients in NYU's class of 2022 to the graduates and guests.Swift is the only woman to win the Grammy Award for Best Album three times, making her one of the most successful female performers of all time.Swift will receive the honorary title of Doctor of Fine Arts, honoris causa, at the ceremony.

Swift had already been linked to NYU since the school offered a course on the Pennsylvania-born singer-songwriter, albeit she had no direct involvement in the class.Judith Heumann, a disability rights campaigner, will also be honored with a doctor of humane letters.She will deliver the commencement address to the classes of 2020 and 2021, whose festivities were postponed owing to pandemic-related constraints.
