BEYONCE'S OSCARS PERFORMANCE WAS PRE-TAPED!
Beyonce's performance at the Oscars was "pre-taped" to guarantee "nothing was left to chance."The 40-year-old singer performed 'Be Alive' from 'King Richard' with her 10-year-old daughter Blue Ivy to kick off the Academy Awards on Sunday (03.27.22), and now an ABC official has weighed in on the decision.
"It was pre-taped," stated Rob Mills, EVP Unscripted and Alternative Entertainment at Walt Disney Television, the broadcaster's parent corporation.
"As you can see, Beyonce certainly had an incredible vision for that song, and I believe it was all about making sure nothing was left to chance." As she sang from the sisters' local tennis courts in Compton, California, she was presented by Venus and Serena Williams, who were in attendance for the ceremony at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood. She was accompanied by a number of supporting dancers, including her eldest child.
Beyonce, who was nominated for Best Original Song for the first time, pushed her dancers and musicians to "sing it like you mean it" while dressed in tennis ball hues of green and yellow.Another highlight of the evening was Megan Thee Stallion's performance of 'We Don't Talk About Bruno,' which was included in 'Encanto' but not nominated, and Mills emphasized how vital it was to include the song.
