Amy Schumer has responded to the anger she received after making a joke during the Oscars 2022 event about Kirsten Dunst being a "seat filler."

Amy posted on March 28 in an Instagram Story, "Hey, thanks for the support for Kirsten Dunst. I adore her as well! She was a part of a choreographed routine. That would be disrespectful to the queen." Amy began her speech by explaining to the audience the notion of seat fillers, or persons who are assigned to fill seats when celebrities are not present. Amy then moved over to Kirsten's table, where she was joined by her husband and co-star Jesse Plemons.

She pointed to Kirsten and remarked, "Here's a seat filler." "Do you want to go to the restroom, Honey?" Jesse and Kirsten were both nominated for their roles in The Power of the Dog, with Jesse receiving a nomination for Best Supporting Actor and Kirsten receiving a nomination for Best Supporting Actress.

Even if they didn't win any trophies, the pair did get a custom-made joke from Amy.
