The Canadian star reflected on his post-breakup life while discussing upcoming new music. "Many of the things that are resonating in the lyric for me are things like, well, you know, when you're breaking up with someone, you think it's the right thing to do, but you don't understand all the s—t that follows after it. Who do I contact if I'm having a panic attack, for example? When I'm on the verge of losing it, who do I call?"

He went on to say, "That, I believe, is the reality that hit me. Oh, I'm on my own now, it's like. Now I feel like I'm on my own for the first time, which I despise. You know, that's my reality."
