Rita Ora has joined the cast of Disney Plus' planned prequel to "Beauty and the Beast." The announcement was revealed at the Television Critics Association's winter press tour on Monday during a Disney Branded Television session.
Ora will play "a fugitive with remarkable skills who carries with her a secret that might possibly harm a whole kingdom" in the "Beauty and the Beast" (working title) prequel. Josh Gad, Luke Evans, Briana Middleton, Fra Fee, and Jelani Alladin are among the cast members.
Along with Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz, Gad also acts as an executive producer and co-showrunner. (EPs include Alan Menken, Liesl Tommy (who directs the first episode), and Luke Evans.) The story is set years before the events of "Beauty and the Beast," and follows Gaston and LeFou as they travel with Tilly, LeFou's stepsister, after a shocking discovery from her past is revealed.
