Rihanna's Clara Lionel Foundation has pledged $15 million to the cause in support of her stance that climate change is a social justice issue.
The Climate Justice Alliance, the Indigenous Environmental Network, and the Movement for Black Lives are among the 18 climate justice organizations that the "We Found Love" singer announced a donation to on Tuesday. The Climate Justice Alliance, the Indigenous Environmental Network, and the Movement for Black Lives all work in seven Caribbean countries and the United States.
"Climate catastrophes, which are increasing in frequency and intensity, do not affect all communities equally," Rihanna said in a statement, adding that her organization focuses both climate resilience and climate justice initiatives.
