Justin Bieber has to step down from the throne of the Prince of Pop as soon as possible, because his successor is ready to take his place — and that person is... The Weeknd.
Abel has now passed a new milestone, putting him one step ahead of JB in terms of Spotify statistics. The Weeknd has surpassed Drake as the artist with the most monthly listeners on the music app, with an estimated 85.6 million.
That's a significant increase over where the Biebs was last year, when he topped the charts with 83.3 million... and has held the record for the last 190 days.
Of course, if you've been following along, you'll know that Abel has been chasing Justin for a while — even when the latter reached that milestone, The Weeknd was #2 at the time... and the release of his new smash album, "Dawn FM," appears to have vaulted him to the top.
The album is receiving wonderful reviews and is climbing the charts — not long after 2020's incredibly successful run with "After Hours"... which, we're sure, is still assisting Abel to this day.
