According to Deadline, Ellen's Game of Games was not renewed for a fifth season on January 18. In May 2021, the game show, which debuted in 2017 on NBC, wrapped up its fourth—and final—season. In the unscripted series, Ellen DeGeneres guided players through a series of games modeled on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, with the help of announcer and sidekick Stephen "tWitch" Boss, as they fought for a chance to win a cash reward of $100,000.

This revelation comes after The Ellen DeGeneres Show announced in May that it would be closing after its 19th season due to workplace toxicity in 2020. In a Buzzfeed News article published in July 2020, one current (at the time of publication) and ten past staffers spoke out about the daytime talk show's working environment.
