This holiday season, Kanye West is eager to give back. According to Chicago Alderman Stephanie Coleman, Ye purchased nearly all of the 4,000 gifts that were to be donated at a Christmas drive on Sunday in Englewood, a South Side Chicago community, ABC7 reports.

Others, including local business owners, community leaders, and residents, also donated toys. Families who attend will receive lunch as well as the opportunity to play activities and win prizes while receiving their toys.

Ye has a philanthropic streak. He met with the CEO of LA Mission and other philanthropic organizations in late November to discuss the city's homeless crisis. His goal was to work with local organizations to offer food to the homeless on a regular basis, and to use his businesses to provide education, jobs, and housing. He had previously made good on his commitments the week before, around Thanksgiving, by donating 1,000 meals to the LA Mission.
