Park So Dam, a South Korean actress who rose to international prominence because to her portrayal in the Oscar-winning film "Parasite," has been diagnosed with papillary thyroid cancer. According to a statement given by Park's agency, ArtistCompany, to CNN on Monday, Park, 30, was diagnosed during a routine health check and underwent surgery.
Papillary thyroid carcinoma is the most common type of thyroid cancer, according to the National Health Service of the United Kingdom (NHS). It usually affects persons under the age of 40, mostly women, and is easier to treat than other types of thyroid cancer, according to the NHS.
