It comes with a video that debuted on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show. The lyrics reflect on previous Christmas, which was mostly spent on Zoom, and urge folks to mask up and get their COVID-19 boosters if they're available.
"It Was A..." isn't Fallon and Megan Thee Stallion's first collaboration; in 2019, they collaborated on a Tonight Show comedy titled "Hot Girl Fall," which celebrated pumpkin beer and cable-knit sweaters. Grande has also appeared on The Tonight Show, most recently zooming in to present a video of her singing the national anthem at a hockey game in Florida when she was just eight years old.
