It's official: in 2021, New Year's Eve will be a "Party in the USA”. NBC announced on Monday (Nov. 29) that Miley Cyrus will host the network's 2022 New Year's Eve special. Lorne Michaels will be the executive producer of the show, which will be titled Miley's New Year's Eve Party, and Pete Davidson will co-host it. In the next weeks, more celebrity guests and musical performances for the evening will be announced.
In a statement, NBCUniversal executive vice president of live events, specials, and E! News Jen Neal stated, "We are looking forward to teaming with Lorne Michaels and ringing in 2022 with a night of fantastic entertainment, lead by Miley and Pete."
Meanwhile, in the wake of the coronavirus pandemic's influence on all things live music, the pop artist will continue touring in the following year. She's already set to headline the 2022 Super Bowl Music Fest, as well as the Argentinian and Brazilian editions of Lollapalooza, alongside Foo Fighters, The Strokes, Doja Cat, A$AP Rocky, and Martin Garrix.
