On Friday, Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Brenda Penny ruled in favour of the singer's request to end her 13-year conservatorship set up by the 39-year-old singer’s father with a safety net in place with no requirement for a medical evaluation. Ms. Spears went on to say that she was continuously traumatised and forced to perform, drugged, and prevented from marrying and having more children. She is elated to regain control of her life and set up her boundaries. Spears went on to thank her fans for continuous support for her freedom and the major role played by the #FreeBritney movement.
The end of the strenuous legal battle brings light to such abusive conservatorships, initially meant for people who are unable to make their own decisions and incentive for better legal reform.
