LADY GAGA SPENT MONTHS PRACTICING HER GUCCI ACCENT!

In a room with 100 dialects, only Lady Gaga's heavy accent as Patrizia Gucci in House of Gucci will stand out. If you needed any more confirmation that we are living in the Golden Age of Accents, go no farther than Lady Gaga declaring in this clip, "Our name, honey." How did Lady Gaga make a narrative about an Italian fashion murderess sound even more ridiculous than it already is? She committed to the part in the same way that all performers who use wacky accents do.

Gaga said in a new interview that she spent nine months, including off-camera, speaking in her Patrizia Gucci accent. Lady Gaga, in other words, gave birth to her Gucci accent.

"I suddenly had to color my hair," Gaga adds because it was "almost impossible... to speak with the accent as a blonde." Impressive, and a lot of pressure to put on her hairstylist, but it appears they pulled it off. Gaga was reportedly able to change her character's accent based on who she was speaking to, pitching it into a higher-class inflection when Patrizia would have tried to impress the Gucci set.
