Rejoice, Instagram users everywhere. Instead of relying on the phone app, the social network is now allowing users to publish photographs and videos from a browser. The functionality will be available worldwide later this week.

One of Instagram's most frequently requested features is the ability to post from a computer. Some of us, including myself, have gone to tremendous efforts to post directly from a computer to the platform. Compared to third-party solutions, this official method of posting from a browser will be far more simplified.

Instagram also revealed a slew of new features aimed at boosting creativity (and compete with TikTok). The business intends to extend its collaborative features to make it easier for users to collaborate on posts and Reels. Reels will also get some music capabilities, like Superbeat, which adds effects to a video based on the beat of a song, 3D lyrics, which show song lyrics in sync with the melody.
