Even though October has only just begun, Ed Sheeran and Sir Elton John are already giving music fans a cause to anticipate the Christmas season.

Sheeran confirmed that he and John would be releasing a Christmas song together this December in an interview with Jan-Willem Start Op, a morning radio show on Dutch radio station NPO Radio 2. As broadcasters Jan-Willem Roodbeen and Jeroen Kijk in de Vegte pressed Sheeran about any future holiday music, the singer finally spilled the beans.

Sheeran revealed that John, with whom he claims he speaks "nearly every single day," contacted him on Christmas Day and asked him to collaborate with him. The 74-year-old singer who came up with a hit song last Christmas too has been working on this collaboration with Ed Sheeran for the past few months.
