As we know the Tony Awards took place on the 26th of September. Tony awards are all about Broadway theatre and appreciating their excellence with awards.
The award ceremony was set to take place last year however got postponed due to the pandemic. The biggest prize went out to ‘Moulin Rouge’ where that musical won 10 awards including Musical of the year. ‘The Inheritance’ won best play award which was inspired by ‘Howards End’. This play had received reviews which were mixed however yet won the award.
The ceremony was held with restrictions and following safety guidelines. Due to the pandemic only 18 shows were eligible to be nominated for the awards and only 15 were able to claim awards this year. However the award ceremony finally took place after being postponed!!
