Sony has officially renamed its Marvel character films that aren't part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe! The studio is in charge of projects such as Venom and Morbius, as well as collaborating with Marvel Studios on Tom Holland's Spider-Man features. 

While it previously classified its comics output as 'Sony Pictures' Universe of Marvel Characters', it announced at CinemaCon that it had now rebranded its non-MCU projects as 'Sony's Spider-Man Universe.'

While this doesn't guarantee that everyone's favorite scarlet webster will pair up with Tom Hardy's Venom, it's certainly a possibility, especially given that the upcoming Spider-Man: No Way Home is Holland's final Marvel solo film as per his contract. This could also indicate that an alternate Spider-Man, such as Miles Morales, would be introduced, or it could simply be neater to tie in all the characters around the spectacular Spidey.

If the famed web-slinger gets a crossover, it would go without saying that our favorite foul-mouthed merc-with-a-mouth will do so as well. Deadpool 3 recently grabbed fans’ attention as Marvel Studio president, Kevin Feige offered an update and confirmed the sequel's inclusion in the MCU! 

With Ryan Reynolds reprising his iconic lead, Deadpool is officially entering the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and he'll get to keep his R-rating! According to Feige, sisters Lizzie Molyneux-Loeglin and Wendy Molyneux are hard at work on the script with Reynolds overseeing it, although Deadpool 3 filming won't start until 2022 given the jam-packed line-up of productions for 2021.
