The CEO of the Saudi Geological Survey revealed that the remains of a primitive whale dating back to 37 million years ago were found in the North of Saudi Arabia. The discovery is of great importance since it dates back to the Upper Eocene era (54 to 33 million years ago) and is the first of its kind to be found in Saudi Arabia.

The discovery is also of global importance since it would add immensely to scientific research, given its historic value, and what could be unveiled about ancient geological ages and the maritime environment.
